The part that is different: someone films it
Every trip on this site can be booked on its own. Book it with the film package and a filmmaker travels with the group, shoots the four days, and edits a film of your trip. Not stock footage of Vietnam with your name on it — your group, your weather, the morning it rained on Ma Pi Leng.
- You book the trip and tick the film package. We ask three questions: who is in the group, is anyone uncomfortable on camera, and what you want the film to be about.
- The filmmaker meets you the evening before departure, at your hotel, for fifteen minutes. That meeting exists so the camera is not a stranger on day one.
- They travel in the same vehicle, eat the same meals, sleep in the same homestays. There is no second crew car and no drone operator following you in a van.
- You are filmed for roughly four hours a day, in blocks, not continuously. You can call a stop at any point and the camera goes in the bag.
- Within fourteen days of your last day you get the film, a vertical social cut, and every usable raw clip on a download link that stays live for twelve months.
What the film is, and what it is not
A travel film made in four days by one person is a specific thing. It is worth being precise about, because the gap between what people imagine and what arrives is where disappointment lives.

You get one round of changes, requested within thirty days of delivery. Cutting a person out, changing the music, a different opening shot — that is the round. A second full re-edit is USD 120 and we will tell you so before starting it, not after.
What it costs
Trip prices are per person, sharing a twin room, in USD. The film package is per group, not per person, so it gets cheaper the more of you there are. Nothing on this page is a deposit-only headline price with the real number hidden behind an enquiry form.

The USD 90 option on the street food night is the vertical social cut only — sixty to ninety seconds, no long film. It exists because a three-hour evening does not contain seven minutes of film, and pretending otherwise would be selling you something we cannot deliver.

Who we are not right for
Reading this list and leaving is a good outcome for both of us.
- Groups over twelve. We run one vehicle and one filmmaker. Above twelve the trip becomes a coach tour and the film becomes crowd footage.
- Anyone who wants a guaranteed shot list. Weather in Ha Giang does what it wants, and we will not fake a sunrise you did not see.
- Travellers who want the cheapest possible seat on the Ha Giang loop. Hostel loop tours run at a third of our price and they are a legitimate way to see it.
- People who need the film for a commercial campaign with usage rights, approvals and revisions. That is production work, not this.
- Anyone who would be miserable being filmed. It is meant to be a good four days first and footage second.

What people ask before booking
Do I have to buy the film package?
No. Every trip is priced and sold on its own and most of our bookings are trip-only. The film is an add-on you can also decide on up to seven days before departure, once you have seen the weather forecast.
Who owns the footage?
You do, for any use including commercial. We ask separately, in writing, whether we may use clips of your trip on our own channels. If you say no, nothing is published, and saying no does not change the price.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The trip runs. Ha Giang in rain is still Ha Giang, and the film says so.
If a road closes and we cannot complete the route we refund the days not travelled in full, and the film package in full if there were fewer than two filming days.
Is the filmmaker also the guide?
No. The guide guides and the filmmaker films. One person doing both means you get worse of each, and it is the most common shortcut in filmed tours.
